Laurie Hernandez Announces Her First Book 'I Got This'

At only 16 years old, Laurie Hernandez is releasing a memoir titled I Got This: To Gold and Beyond. The title alludes to a moment captured on live TV, where she whispered the words, “I got this” to herself in Rio.

The book will document her journey to the 2016 Rio Olympics alongside the Final Five. The book will also include never-before-seen photos.

At this year’s Games, Laurie earned a gold medal for Team All Around and a silver medal individually for the Balance Beam.

Hernandez explained to PEOPLE, “People have seen me at my best, but I don’t think most of them know everything that it took to get me to where I am today.”
