Game Of Thrones Star Sophie Turner Was Pressured To Lose Weight On Set
Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner Jonas landed the leading role of Sansa Stark on one of the biggest TV shows of all time nearly a decade ago, but that doesn’t mean top-level executives haven’t put pressure on her to look a certain way. In a recent interview, Turner reveals that she has struggled with her weight, and she needed therapy to help her deal with the issue.
While speaking with Marie Claire Australia, Turner revealed that she has experienced mental illness firsthand, and she has also seen what it can do to people. The actress explained that her metabolism decided “to fall to the depths of the ocean,” and she started to gain weight. And, to make matters worse, it was all happening in front of the camera.

To cope with the pressure and scrutiny over her appearance, the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star turned to therapy.
“Everyone needs a therapist, especially when people are constantly telling you you’re not good enough and you don’t look good enough,” she said. “I think it’s necessary to have someone to talk to, and to help you through that.”
In the past, the 23-year-old has said she was told to lose weight for a job, even if it had nothing to do with the character she was playing.
“It is so f****d up,” Turner told Porter Magazine in August 2017.
Turner tied the knot with Jonas Brothers singer and DNCE frontman Joe Jonas in a surprise secret ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The couple decided to legally get married in the United States before having a lavish ceremony in front of family and friends in France this summer.
After becoming husband and wife, Joe and Sophie traveled to Los Angeles to start their honeymoon, and cameras spotted the actress wearing a “Just Married” sash over her white sweatshirt. The newlyweds are staying at the San Vicente Bungalows along with Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, at the uber-secret resort that bans cameras and social media.

Joe and Sophie started dating in November 2016, and he popped the question in October 2017. During their Las Vegas ceremony that was officiated by an Elvis impersonator, the couple exchanged vows and Ring Pops after Sophie walked down the aisle to Dan + Shay performing their hit Speechless.

According to the marriage certificate, the actress will now use the name Sophie Belinda Jonas.
