Australian-French visual artist Mirka Mora, who is the most respected and loved artist famously known for her significant role in the development of contemporary art in Australia has died at the age of 90 years.

Mirka Mora cause of death is due to Alzheimer’s and age-related illness.

The death of Mirka Mora was confirmed by her son William Mora on Monday night. Mirka Mora son William Mora on his statement said;

“It’s with great sadness that the Mora family announces the passing of our matriarch, the magic Mirka Mora,”

he also added;

“An artist and mentor who touched the lives of thousands, she has had an indelible effect on Australia’s cultural life. At 90, she fought Alzheimer’s and age-related illness to the end. The joie de vivre she has shared with so many will continue in her immense legacy of art and her spirit of generosity.”

Australian-French visual artist Mirka Mora migrating to Australia in the 1950s from France and since then have settled in Melbourne. Being an exceptional talent artist Mirka Mora left her mark all over the city.

Mirka Mora has three sons Philippe, William and Tiriel and all of them are successful in their respective creative fields. Her son Philippe is an artist and a filmmaker whereas William Mora is an art dealer and Tiriel is an actor.
